We pray for Haiti, but Haitians teach us the power of prayer
They praise God despite their loss and sing from the rubble
Haiti the first to break the shackles of slavery yet remained burdened with price of oppression
The earth trembled, concrete crumbled, for a people who had little, were left with only sorrow
The world watched, and the calls for help answered
Too slow and too late for some, lessons learned
Our world is too small to let neighbors struggle, so weak, they can't withstand a blow
So we give, inspired by their faith and strength
Caring unites us, serving fills us
And the people of Haiti teach us
